PT Redeco Petrolin Utama (RPU), a subsidiary of PT Chandra Daya Investasi Tbk (CDI) in the port and storage sector, has inaugurated bitumen tank facility with a total capacity of 12,000 m³ in Merak, Banten. The facility consists of three tanks with capacities of 3,000 m³, 4,000 m³, and 5,000 m³. With this addition, RPU now operates 75 storage tanks for petrochemical, petroleum, lubricant, and bitumen products. The Company views the availability of sufficient storage facilities as essential to ensuring a reliable construction materials supply chain, since bitumen is a primary material for road construction and maintenance amid continually growing infrastructure needs. Through this bitumen tank facility, RPU strengthens its storage capabilities to meet increasingly diverse customer demands.
As part of Chandra Asri Group, RPU creates opportunities for synergy to establish a more integrated bitumen supply chain. Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd. has capabilities on the supply side, while PT Chandra Shipping International and PT SCG Barito Logistics operate in logistics and transportation. This move reflects RPU's effort to optimize its existing infrastructure while expanding its service coverage according to market demand. Going forward, RPU's management will continue to optimize its infrastructure and explore collaboration with various partners so that its services become more relevant to customers. The new facility is expected to expand RPU's storage service portfolio and strengthen CDI's infrastructure capabilities in supporting national industrial needs, particularly in the construction sector, which plays an important role in Indonesia's economic development.
